Michelmores Solicitors recognised the need to adopt a more consistent approach in its recruitment and selection process if it was to continue to attract and retain the high standard of applicants it was used to.



Carol Carpenter Training designed a comprehensive process, producing documentation ensuring they were compliant with the new Age Discrimination law, streamlining information flows, and developing a competency-based interviewing technique. All managers and supervisors then attended workshops to ensure they were confident at carrying out interviews.

The results achieved were better communication internally about vacancies, better communication with outside agencies in terms of firms' needs, clearer advertising, revamped website, accurate sifting and assessment processes used, and as a direct result, the firm felt it was better able to find the right candidates.
